On February 23rd the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine was glad to host the Healthcare Market Leaders Breakfast which took place at the Mille Miglia Restaurant of the Radisson SAS Hotel (Kyiv, Ukraine).

Co-Chair of Healthcare Committee of ACC and partner of PARITET law firm, Borys Danevych together with the leadership of Chamber Member companies exchanged information on a variety of issues that were currently impacting healthcare and pharmaceutical businesses, future business planning models as well as discussed and agreed on the priority issues of the Chamber Healthcare Committee throughout 2010.

During 2009 Committees leadership have conducted expertise of new legislation and drafting proposal concerning development and improvement of legislation.

Also ACC had numerous meetings and collaborations with various state authorities on critical issues for the industry, including:

-          pricing and mark-ups regulations;

-          Braille marking of drugs packaging;

-          Quality control issues;

-          pharmaceutical advertising;

-          public procurement issues;

-          IPR issues in pharma industry.

Having wide experience in advising pharmaceutical and biotech companies on various Ukrainian legal matters, Borys Danevych shared thoughts and ideas on further development in 2010 of the following issues:

- Clinical Trials in Ukraine: actual problems and necessary measures;

- Efficient ways of open co-operation of the Western pharmaceutical and biotechnological companies through the Chamber with Ukrainian authorities as well as other industry based associations to push the Policy Agenda forward;

-Public Reimbursement System of Ukraine: possible ways of setting up and development on the basis of USA and EU experience.
